THE INTERNATIONAL REGISTRY OF NPI BEST PRACTICES

The NPIS has created a centralized repository of practical psychosocial, nutritional, and physical protocol records that comply with the definition and the standardized NPI evaluation framework, the NPIS Registry.

This best practice repository is accessible to professionals and the public. It provides access to codified, applicable, traceable, and fundable NPI protocols. The platform is interoperable with all healthcare software, decision support systems, and user financing solutions.

NPI CARD

A record in the registry presents an NPI in four sections:

  • An information notice accessible to all users,
  • A professional, implementable protocol accessible to all healthcare practitioners and health operators,
  • Standardised indices,
  • A module for suggestions for improvement by users and professionals.

The protocol section is a standardized specification for each NPI, accessible to all practitioners and healthcare providers. It specifies all specifications and customization aids (see Figure below). It cites all the references of the studies that led to its certification.

VALIDATION OF AN NPI CARD

Each NPI card in the standard has been validated through a rigorous and transparent process.

This scientific validation process is based on the standardized NPI evaluation framework called the NPIS Model. Independent experts attest, through an anonymous vote, based on rigorous studies published in recognized scientific journals, that the NPI is described, explainable, effective, safe, and implementable. This scientific validation process is auditable by all health authorities and scientific societies that are partners of the NPIS.

UPDATING AN NPI CARD

The content of the NPI card is subject to improvement based on new studies and analyses of user and professional feedback collected in the NPIS Registry.

The update is carried out in consultation between the NPIS and the authors of the card. This improves the NPI operational efficiency, security, and efficiency.
