"From accelerating medical innovations to preventing and treating disease, personalising care, and strengthening health systems; from supporting competitive, sustainable and resilient food systems and bio-based industries that protect nature and reduce environmental impact, to new biotechnologies that fuel growth in areas like biomanufacturing and advanced materials. All these will directly contribute to strategic resilience by securing access to critical knowledge, tools, and technologies made in Europe." (July 2, 2025)
"[We, the Member States] acknowledge that there are cost-effective and evidence-based interventions for preventing, screening, diagnosing, treating and caring for people living with or at elevated risk of noncommunicable diseases and mental health conditions, while also acknowledging that scarce resources and increasing prices of certain health products and services mean that Member States must prioritize the most affordable and feasible interventions, which, for the most part, can be delivered at community and primary health care level based on context-specific considerations." The Science of NPI
An NPI is a healthcare solution that can be described, explained, effective, safe, and implemented. Through a transdisciplinary, intersectoral, and transpartisan approach, the NPIS has co-constructed a standardized scientific framework for evaluating “non-pharmacological interventions” or “non-pharmaceutical interventions”.

WHO WE ARE
The Non-Pharmacological Intervention Society (NPIS) is an international scientific society founded in 2021.
It works to develop the science of NPI and to share knowledge and best practices. It brings together researchers, healthcare professionals, users, decision-makers, students, and simply people committed to active and sustainable human health. This non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) continues the epistemological work on NPI at a university platform located in Montpellier, inspired by the World Health Organization and the French High Authority for Health. française.
Our Missions
The NPIS works for the international development of research and innovation in NPI. It clarifies a field of health through rigorous, integrated, transdisciplinary, and intersectoral framework. It contributes to the development of intangible solution for prevention, care, and autonomy support.
Our Vision
The NPIS considers NPI as personalized health solutions delivered by professionals and targeted to a health problem known to Western medicine. These protocols constitute an important sector of innovation that complements health products, medical devices, surgeries, and public health measures.
Our Organization
An open, rigorous, and dynamic structure.
Members elected at the NPIS General Assembly are responsible for managing the association within an executive committee and a board of directors. Honorary members and presidents also contribute to its development.
