Open Badge Science 3 - Ethics: Ethical Base for Evaluating NPI for Health

Research ethics ensures the integrity of studies and respect for participants. Validating a universally applicable NPI that can be applied in diverse regulatory frameworks and cultural contexts requires ethics training.

NPIs present unique ethical challenges. Unlike pharmaceuticals, NPIs can involve more direct and prolonged interactions with participants, requiring careful attention to ethical aspects such as informed consent, confidentiality, and managing participant expectations. Specialized and certified training was needed to enable researchers to better understand and manage these specificities, thus ensuring ethical and respectful research for participants.

By offering a certified research ethics training program specialized in NPIs, called the Science 3 Open Badge, the NPIS provides researchers with a foundation of transversal ethical skills for research.

The badge not only strengthens the quality and credibility of their research, but also the trust of the public, participants, and regulators. The training is designed for those wishing to deepen their knowledge and skills in research ethics and scientific integrity, with a particular focus on NMIs. It covers fundamental ethical principles and current regulations. Participants have the opportunity to discuss practical cases, explore ethical dilemmas, and develop strategies for responsible research.
