Authorities and agencies expect solid methodological training for NMI researchers due to the high risk of bias in studies, patient expectations, pressures from the wellness market, and, above all, the intangible nature of these healthcare solutions, which are subject to diverse implementation contexts.
The acquisition of specific expertise is necessary to be able to justify, design, report, conduct, analyze, discuss, and promote a study evaluating one or more NMIs, whether in combination with another treatment or not. Therefore, the NPIS has developed a continuing education program to acquire the methodological and metrological skills necessary to successfully conduct a study based on the NPIS Model and the requirements of the healthcare sector. The training covers critical article reading, study justification, high-value study design, qualitative and quantitative methodologies, funding research, authorization applications, implementation, transferability of results, and potential applications. It raises participants' awareness of new digital and participatory research tools.
The Science 2 open badge provides training in the cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary skills needed to select, implement, and monitor a study on NMIs.
It shares the latest essential research tools. Holders of this open badge will be awarded a credit for integrity and methodological rigor. This badge recognizes the holder's commitment to contributing to the work of a community seeking to consolidate good NMI practices in the service of more active, equitable, and sustainable human health. It provides assurance of seriousness in the best interests of users. It reinforces a global, interdisciplinary scientific approach focused on practice.
